I recently recommended the Zombies in my Workplace video to a friend.

I firmly believe this kind of advice … that if you don't make things, if you don't change what you're doing, you'll get stale, or worse, get boring.

It's like that old quote:
Man asks advice: "how do I become a better conversationalist?"
Answer: "Learn the violin"

Wait … what? To get more interesting (or build creativity, get better at what you do, etc.) you have to do things differently. You look at problems different ways, draw pictures, hell, I used to do origami at work if my brain turned to mush. It works. Seriously.
