Using bad code to stay on your toes

Yeah, this is behind the curve, but for some reason I hadn't been following The Daily WTF until a couple weeks ago.

While it's fun to read the prose of course, I really enjoy the bad code (http://thedailywtf.com/Series/CodeSOD.aspx; examples: http://thedailywtf.com/Articles/Accounting-for-Complexity.aspx, http://thedailywtf.com/Articles/Swallowed-by-the-Beast.aspx). Why? Well, let's say I live many of my days in a content-centered job. But one day comes and I need to bust something out, and fast … and need to do it the right way the first time.

Reading these serves as great practice for that day, so that my brain is constantly getting trained to think of the most efficient method first (or second). I'd love to find more bad code exercises. Anybody got a daily calendar out there?
